Lehenga Choli is one of the most sought-after ethnic wear. It represents and shows the opulence of Indian culture and tradition.

Even in 2018, Lehenga has not lost its sheen and it still allures the women at most on every special occasion.

Lehengas which is a three-piece outfit, consist of A choli/blouse, Skirt and a dupatta/stole. Whether it’s a wedding,  karvachauth, Diwali, it can be worn all around the year and woman or girl of any age.

As the name suggests these types of lehengas have the skirt of the lehenga as the round flare which tends to be wide adding a lot of volume at the bottom. However, your flare will depend upon the pleats you have. This lehenga type is the oldest or traditional and the most common.

3.  Straight paneled Lehenga

Straight paneled or ‘kali’ in Hindi are the vertically cut fabric pieces attached to make flare of the skirt. 4.  Mermaid/Fishtail Lehenga

This wonderful sartorial type of lehenga is inspired by the fish. This lehenga is usually fitted from waist to the hips, sometimes little down below.  This lehenga renders the beautiful curvy silhouette.

5. Double Flare Lehenga

This is a different type of lehenga which has two flares. In simple words, layers are created attaching two or more skirts. The outer layer is generally sheer. Double flare creates lot of volume hence looks quite heavy and adorable.

Shararalehengas have the flared bottoms or palazzo. These are actually not lehenga but with the time, they have made their place in the list of different  types of lehengas. This gorgeous style of lehenga is quite famous in Pakistan as well in India in Muslim community, but now it’s gradually becoming mainstream.

7. Saree Lehenga

This type of lehenga is inspired from south India half saree. Everything is same except the dupatta is draped in saree style. These type of chaniya choli are suitable for almost all body types.

8. A line Lehenga

In this type of lehenga style, skirt makes a perfect A and generally does not have a very wide flare which is perfect for the ladies having beautiful figure.

9. Contemporary Lehenga

This list cannot end without mentioning this category. Contemporary lehengas are the lehengas with the modern twist quenching the thirst.
